As part of our continuing Digital Wellness series, AISB welcomed back Screentime Strategist Patrick Green as he worked with parents, students, and teachers around digital wellness. The feedback from these sessions has been overwhelmingly positive. One student reported that Patrick “helped me with my mom so much!”
Parent sessions explored strategies for supporting children in a phone-free school environment and shared tools for creating healthier family tech habits. Parents reflected on their family’s technology use, discussed common challenges, and designed realistic plans to foster more balance and connection at home.

Patrick also shared useful resources to continue these conversations at home. One resource we would like to highlight is the Winning Screentime Recommendations Checklist - a list that combines recommendations from leading organizations such as the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Psychological Association. We invite you to access all of Patrick's resources on his Winning Screentime Resources page.
To keep the discussion going, you may want to try one of these simple conversation starters with your child:
- What do you like most about having a phone-free school? What is the hardest part?
- If you could design the perfect "tech plan" for our family, what would it look like?
- When do you feel most connected to our family? How can we make that happen more often?
