Students engage in a diverse curriculum that includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, world languages, and exploratory courses in visual arts, music, drama, design technology, and band.

World Languages
World Language classes at AISB are organized by proficiency level rather than grade level. We proudly offer French, German, and Spanish at all levels to accommodate learners of those languages.
Science
The Middle School Science program adopts an integrated, activity-based approach that emphasizes hands-on learning. Students explore earth science, life science, and physical science throughout their middle school experience.
Mathematics
Mathematics instruction in Middle School focuses on developing essential skills across all grade levels. Students engage in problem-solving, abstract reasoning, constructing arguments, modeling with mathematics, and using appropriate tools strategically.
Exploratory Program
Our Arts, Technology, and Design program allows students to explore a variety of interests. In the arts, students engage in creating, performing, and responding to various forms of visual and performing arts while appreciating their role in expressing human experiences. In design technology, students apply problem-solving skills through the design process to create solutions in various contexts.
Physical and Health Education
The goal of Physical and Helath Education is to motivate students to always strive for their best. Through a range of activities, they acquire knowledge and skills related to healthy living while cultivating positive attitudes and values.
English as an Additional Language
We recognize language as a vital tool for thinking and expressing ideas. The EAL program at AISB provides tailored support for students developing their academic English skills over time.
Learning Support Services
Our Learning Support program offers personalized organizational and academic assistance to students identified as needing extra support. The Learning Support Teacher collaborates closely with grade-level teams to ensure these students receive the help they require.
Advisory
The advisory program is an essential aspect of the middle school experience at AISB. It provides students with opportunities to develop a sense of belonging within the larger school community while honing skills related to time management, organization, decision-making, healthy living, goal setting, and reflection.
