Purpose of the AISB Innovation Diploma

The AISB Innovation Diploma is designed for students who seek greater opportunities in their educational journey, including:

Agency over their own learning
Access to internships and specialization
Project-based learning experiences aimed at solving real-world problems

This diploma empowers students to tackle authentic challenges by integrating concepts from multiple disciplines. Learners have the chance to delve deeply into a specialized field of their choice, helping them clarify their purpose and explore potential career paths.

To earn the Innovation Diploma, students participate in two integrated project-based courses (for example, English, Design & The Imperfect Art of Living; Science, Art, and Innovation Studio). This approach allows them to appreciate the natural connections between different subject areas while gaining increased autonomy over their learning. Through project-based initiatives, students develop self-regulation skills and contribute meaningfully beyond the classroom.

Additionally, students select a series of courses related to their area of interest, which includes an internship that provides hands-on experience in the workplace. They also design and lead a capstone project in Grade 12, further connecting their studies to real-world applications.

Requirements

Innovation Diploma students collaborate with their counselor and the Learning Pathways Coordinator to ensure they meet the following requirements (in addition to those for the AISB Diploma):

Specialization Courses	Students must complete a series of courses connected to their chosen area of interest.
Internship	A hands-on experience in a relevant field.
Capstone Project	A self-designed project in Grade 12 that showcases their learning and contributions.
Integrated Project-Based Courses	Two integrated courses that highlight the interplay between different subjects.
